What s the right age to send ur child to school?
My mom- “ u all went to school at the age of 4”So…whats is the hurry? My grandson is only 2 yrs and 2 months”
I hesitantly agree.
My hubby” These days children are sent to play school at the age of 2 “He would enjoy playing with his classmates”
So, I consult my Paed…She says don’t send him before he is atleast 2 ½, he would pick up only infection (incl swine flu) more than the alphabets…”Very right.
So I have a scientific basis for not sending him to school just now.
As the debate rages on at home, the newspapers are agog with Vijayadasami admissions to preschool, play school and play homes.. the nomenclature are new and confusing .My hubby registers for a school thru online (paying Rs1800)
I promptly get a call from the school ‘Maam, you should come for interview with the 3 copies of passport size photos of the child, birth certificate and cheque for payment of
Rs 24,000. Now, I think…why so soon?...I did not go to the interview.
Later the interview was rescheduled twice yet I did not go. I am not paranoid.

I am consulting friends who have been thru this. Now, Vijayadasami too has come and gone. Thank God…
But my hubby is annoyed that I did not go for the interview…that now puts me on the guilt track. So I have started enquiring about the school admission for the coming academic year…
The other day as we drove, there were some fire crackers on the way ..so we told Pranav pattasu in Tamil (meaning fire crackers)…he immediately …repeated patasu”patasu”…
While returning as it was cloudy, there was lightening and thunder….Pranav says “patasu. .patasu”…we were amazed…
He loves to watch rhymes VCD , there is one on animals…It has a song on Lion…and there is a picture of lion eating a bone. .…he says…”ice cream’ ice cream”as if Lion is enjoying ice cream…
I was imagining a lion tasting ice cream”…how novel the thought is.
And yesterday night…we were showing him the grapes…before we could utter any thing ,he said “balloon ..balloon”. How small a balloon can get.
How simple his life is now….less information lesser assumptions
